Two-and-a-half years later, it remains a horror movie that won’t stop playing in Mariandra Heunis’s mind.
It was late in the night of October 1, 2016, when the then-32-year-old mother of three, who was expecting her fourth child any day, carried her two youngest to bed in their remote South African farmhouse. The cocking of a shotgun echoed through the house and when she turned around, two intruders were standing right in front of her – and she was staring down the barrel of the gun.

The civil rights organisation AfriForum and the family farming organisation Saai released and discussed AfriForum’s 2019 statistics on farm attacks and murders at a media conference today. It seems from the data that AfriForum collected on this issue that farm attacks...
In South Africa’s remote Limpopo province, white farmers feel under attack from incendiary politicians of the Black First Land First movement (BLF) and the militant party EFF. So when Annette Kennealy, a farmer and advocate for their rights and protection, was brutally murdered last month, her family feared she had been killed for her activism. The truth may have been even more shocking – and much closer to home
A brutal farm murder took place on 14 March 2020, between Stutterheim and Cathcart on a farm is a little way outside Stutterheim in the Toise area in the Eastern Cape province of South Africa.
Charlie Hart Bittern Henderson was overpowered at his home by an unknown number of attackers. Evidence found at the scene, when Harts body was discovered on the morning of 15 March 2020, indicate that the attackers had some sort of a party which included a lot of alcohol consumption and according to information a very severe and cruel murder scene was discovered.
The farmer was brutally slain before the attackers fled the scene in his Land Cruiser that was later found burnt out at Crossroads at the Rexfield and Toise intersection.
It’s alleged that the scene was out of a horror film and the body was mutilated.
There is no other information available at this stage. The police are investigating the attack and murder.
Another South African farmer has been reported killed after three gunmen attacked his homestead — part of a sustained campaign of violence across the country.
The alleged attack took place in Potchefstroom in the North West province, according to Times Live. The elderly victim was pronounced dead at the scene by paramedics from the private ambulance company ER24.

The man was alleged to have been sitting on the veranda of the house on the farm Tatoon, in Bulwer, when he was approached by an unknown number of suspects at about 7pm on Wednesday night, dragged into his home, doused with petrol and set alight.
A young couple waited desperately for a rescue that would never come.
Jessica Kuhn and Johanco Fleischman’s Toyota Hilux had run out of fuel on the N12 W. near Benoni, about 32 km east of Johannesburg.
But instead of salvation, they encountered evil.
As the group awaited rescue, three men – illegal gold miners according to local media reports – walked past their vehicle.
EDINBURGH – The white farmer is an easy target for observers who align themselves with President Jacob Zuma’s government, which has encouraged and exacerbated racial tensions. Look at the cold hard facts of farm killings and there are few sympathisers for the pale-faced individuals who put food on South African tables. Instead, there is a deep ethnic hatred seeping through commentaries in The Star, controlled by Zuma sycophant Iqbal Survé, and elsewhere, notes veteran journalist Ed Herbst in this in-depth analysis of the plight of the white farmer. Zuma and his friends have a lot to answer for, even paying London-based public relations firm Bell Pottinger to drum up anti-white sentiment, as do Julius Malema and his band of red-capped followers who beat the anti-white drum at every opportunity possible. Meanwhile, a group of people important for rebuilding South African economy are slowly but surely seeking lives elsewhere.
Though the U.S. media has largely moved on from discussing the terrible mistreatment and persecution of white Christian farmers in South Africa, that doesn’t mean that the problem has evaporated.
Nowhere in the world have people being brutally attacked and murdered by black attackers like white farmers in South Africa. It is reported that every 17 hours for the last five years, a white person was either attacked or murdered by black in their homes. Between January 2010 and January 2015, more than 2 500 violent attackers by blacks against whites were registered. 2008 of the whites were tortured to death and suffered mental torture by being forced to watch the gang-rape of their wives and daughters.
The sincerity of President Cyril Ramaphosa and Free State Premier Sisi Ntombela’s promises not to tolerate land grabs is in question after an Economic Freedom Fighters-led illegal land occupation occurred on a municipally owned farm in Metsimaholo over the weekend. Cape Town - Stellenbosch and the surrounding farming communities are reeling after the murder of prominent strawberry farmer Jeffrey Zetler.
“A big oak tree has fallen in the Stellenbosch community,” said Stellenbosch Mayor Gesie van Deventer after learning of Zetler’s death. Zetler, 62, was stabbed to death in an alleged robbery at the Mooiberge strawberry farm, on the corner of the R44 and Annandale Road on Saturday afternoon.
Since Nelson Mandela and the communist African National Congress (ANC) took over South Africa, more than 70,000 whites have been murdered and untold numbers have been robbed, raped and tortured.
Official statistics on farm attacks are non-existent, due to what human rights groups have described as a “cover-up” by the notoriously corrupt — and potentially complicit — South African government.
Victims are often restrained, harmed with weapons such as machetes and pitchforks, burned with boiling water or hot irons, dragged behind vehicles and shot. Female victims are often raped during attacks.
I came across a story on South Africa that so flew in the face of everything I thought I knew, I had to dig deeper because the story was so riveting. I spent a few weeks reading every story I could find and listening to what the ruling ANC Government and their rivals were doing and saying. Shocking is the best way to describe it. Things like “I am not calling for the slaughter of Whites, not for now” the EFF Party Leader Julius Malema said to a large crowd gathered. You can find the video easily on Youtube.
The evil former farm worker felt he had been wronged by her husband Heine, 44, and shot his way on to the property determined to “chop him into pieces”, tying up his family and stealing their money.
He has now been sentenced to two life sentences in jail, while Nicky has agreed to speak out to raise awareness of the day-to-day terror South African farmers have to endure.
Despite conclusive DNA and CCTV evidence the twisted rapist had pleaded not guilty and forced Nicky to relive her ordeal in the witness box in a horrific 10 day trial that shocked South Africa.
